23 Aug Creative Baking {Healthy} Substitutions
Hey guys! Fall is coming! That means that we are all thinking about those spice breads, dense muffins and warm biscuits! Here’s a great list of creative, healthy substitutions that will allow you to bake your favorite foods with MORE nutritional benefits!
1 Cup of Sugar
1 cup of Coconut Palm Sugar (great for brown sugar sub)
¾ cup Maple Syrup
¾ cup Honey
⅔ cup Agave Nectar
1 tsp. Stevia
1 Cup of Oil or Butter (in baking)
½ cup of Unsweetened Applesauce + ½ cup oil
¾ cup of Greek Yogurt
1 tbsp Flax Meal + 1 tbsp Water
1 cup Avocado (mashed) *butter sub
1 cup Banana (mashed) *butter sub
1 Cup of White Flour
1 cup of Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup of Almond Flour + 1 tsp Baking Powder
1 cup of Pureed Black Beans (cookies & brownies!)
1 cup of Cup4Cup Gluten Free Flour or Bob’s All-Purpose GF Flour
1 Cup of Dairy
1 cup of Greek Yogurt = 1 Cup Sour Cream
1 cup of Nutritional Yeast = 1 Cup Cheese
1 cup of Soy Milk + 1 tsp of Lemon = 1 Cup Buttermilk
1 Egg
1 tbsp Flax Meal + 3 tbsp water (mix together and let thicken)
1 tbsp Chia Seed + ⅓ cup of water (mix together and let thicken)
½ Banana mashed
¼ cup Applesauce
3 tbsp Peanut Butter
